When you think of Black Women what comes to your mind? If we are thinking of the physical attributes of black women the first few things that come to my mind would be the curves of our bodies, the array of our smooth sun kissed chocolate complexions, and the curly kinks of hair that grow in our roots. At least that is the natural black woman. In the modern day black women are evolving and embracing some of the beauty traits of our lighter skin sisters, yes the white girls. There are more and more black women that are starting to wear 10 pounds of makeup and 32 inches of weave. These trends have created a whole new war among our black women. First there was Dark Skin vs Light Skin, which I never understood, now we have “Team Natural” and “Team Creamy Crack”...Seriously? Regardless I guess I would be considered apart of “Team Natural” since I've only had 3 perms in my life, yes I said 3....I know. While I am mostly apart of “Team Natural” I still wear makeup and I will rock some 24 inch tracks like I grew it myself. The new age “Team Natural” is becoming more of a fashion trend and more and more of our black sisters are getting back to their roots, literally. I met a lovely lady that found a way to take this Natural culture and celebrate it. Her name is Emani Harris and she started a line called Pish Posh Apparel. Pish Posh is a hand-painted clothing line that is heavily influenced from the natural beauty of black women. I interviewed Emani and her passion for her craft was obvious. Make sure you watch the interview below, check out some of her products and visit her website today to make your order www.pishposhapparel.com. See you next week ladies and Merry Christmas!
